The 27″ edition of the Connect Mobile Network test has once again confirmed that Switzerland benefits from an excellent mobile network infrastructure to which Salt makes a significant contribution. In this year’s test, published on December 1st 2020, the Salt network was again rated “very good” with 926 of 1000 possible points. Salt was able to improve its score compared to the previous year for the third year in a row, while its competitors’ results decreased by 13 points on average in 2020. Since 2017, Salt improved its score by 81 points in total.
Significant improvement thanks to continuous investments
Throughout the year, Salt has pursued its strategy to continuously invest in the network by modernizing the existing 3G and 4G equipment, while deploying its 5G network. 5G services are now open to all Salt customers (prepaid, postpaid and Surf) and delivered free of charge until the end of the first quarter 2021.
In the 2020 Connect Mobile Network Test, Salt improved its voice and data performance in four out of five connect measurement environments (Urban, Walk test, Towns, and Rail). Salt’s performance in cities in the voice category are on eye level with its national competitors and three operators report nearly perfect results. Moreover, Salt recorded top values for its 5G cells. Overall, Salt achieves the same score as the test winner in Germany.
Pascal Grieder, CEO at Salt, commented: “The results of the Connect Mobile Network test again demonstrate that our efforts are paying off. We are very proud of the world-class network we are delivering to our customers. Thanks to the 5G technology, we will be able to further improve our service quality over the next years and continue to provide Swiss consumers premium quality at the best price.”
